N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Teresa Risovi, Foster County Auditor, has received a letter from Secretary of State Al Jaeger that they will begin investigating the election results of the Carrington Primary.

According to the letter, verbal information alleges that two voters submitted absentee ballots to the County Auditor, but the Election Board discovered that neither one of the ballot applications had the signature of the voter. In order for votes on an absentee ballot to count, the board must compare signatures on applications to the ballot. If this proves to be the case, the two ballots will not be counted.

The two seats on the County Commission were sought after by six candidates. The top four will be going on to the general election in November. The race was close between the fourth and fifth members on the ballot position. The extra ballots pushed Commissioner Paul Staley out of a possible recount.
