CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Community leaders and citizens blended together for a community photo to honor the honor system receiving national and international praise at the Vault Coffee Shop on July 2 in downtown Valley City.

Owner David & Kimberly Brekke say its the people of Valley City who make the honor system possible. He hopes this positive publicity about the self-service cafe will encourage future economic development and help attract more people to the city.

Customers can pay for their items by cash, check or credit card as an overhead camera watches the business that has no employees. After Fargo television station KVRR did a story on the business, a Youtube version attracted worldwide media attention about the Valley City business.

The Valley City Area Chamber of Commerce organized the July 2 event. City officials blocked off a portion of Central Avenue for a few minutes as people held up their coffee mugs for the overhead photograph.
