(NewsDakota.com)  Post 25 was back in action yesterday for their third consecutive night of playing fellow central region baseball teams.  Carrington swept Hope/Finley in the first game 8-2 and 6-2 in the second game and overall record of 4-2 for the week.  Carrington improves to 8-4 in the central region and 12-6 overall, Hope/Finley drops to 1-11 in the central region and 1-17 overall.  

Carrington would score at least one run in every inning except the first and the third inning and get a strong pitching performance by Easton Paeper to beat Hope/Finley in the first game of the evening.  Hope Post 12 and Finley Post 18, would not score until the fifth inning when shortstop Lucas Mantag would hit an RBI triple to make it 5-1.  Mantag would go 4-for-4 at the plate with a two singles, one double and a triple.  Connor Wendel was 2-for-3 at the plate for Carrington with two stolen bases.  Paeper picked up the complete game victory allowing only two runs on seven hits and five strikeouts.  Andy Thorson was the losing pitcher going five innings allowing five runs and eight hits.  

In the nightcap, Hope/Finley would strike first getting two runs in the top of the first inning, but that’s all they would get as Marcus Hewitt threw six strong innings of shutout ball.  Hewitt allowed only two runs on five hits with four strikeouts and was the winning pitcher.  Lucas Montag was the losing pitcher allowing six runs, six hits and two walks.  Shortstop Brady Smith was 2-for-3 with two singles and an RBI for Carrington.  Logan Clifton also drove in a run and was 1-for-3.  

Next up for Carrington will be the Woodbat Tourney in Enderlin starting tomorrow (July12) at 9am.  Post 25 will take on Kindred, coverage will start right after the church services on AM 1600 KDAK and newsdakota.com at 10am.
