N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Strong thunderstorms knocked out power in the city of Carrington. A wind gust of 70 miles per hour knocked down a barn near Carrington Monday night.

The city of Bordulac was also hit hard by strong wind and hail causing damage in that area as well.

National Weather Service Meteorologist John Paul Martin says a semi flipped over on U-S Highway 281 north of Jamestown due to high gusty wind. He says the storm hit Foster and Wells Counties hard on Monday uprooting trees and downing power lines. 

Strong wind gust and hail reported near Finley and in Traill and Grand Forks counties on Monday night. Heavy rain fall amounts of 4 to 6 inches were reported north of Grand Forks on into northwestern Minnesota Monday night.

A citizen reported a funnel cloud west of Lake Ashtabula northwest of Valley City. So far, there have been no reports of any funnel clouds touching down in North Dakota from the storm on Monday.
