M. Delvo-Lunde, age 76 of Battle Lake, Minnesota passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014 in the comfort of her home.  Visitation will be at 1:30 PM, followed by a funeral mass at 2:30 PM, Thursday, July 24 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sanborn, ND.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Charlotte was born on December 3, 1937, the daughter of John and Marguerite (Gaffney) Delvo.  The family lived on a farm near Osnabrock, North Dakota, where Charlotte was baptized, confirmed, and graduated from high school.  Charlotte was united in marriage to Duane Lunde on December 27, 1956.   They share three children together – Cynthia, Michael, and Kimberly.   She later worked for over 20 years as a bookkeeper for Red River Grain, GTA, and Harvest States grain elevators in Sanborn and Galchutt, North Dakota.  Prayer was always a priority throughout Charlotte’s life.  Her strong Catholic faith provided her much comfort and peace.

Charlotte’s most cherished moments were those spent with family and friends, attending grandkid’s dance programs and basketball games, coffee visits with friends, and every opportunity to be outside on the deck.  She greatly appreciated each card, letter, and piece of artwork sent by loved ones.  In earlier years, she enjoyed cooking and baking, planting marigolds and geraniums, and was an excellent seamstress.  A few of her favorite things were pink flamingos, weeping willow trees, gospel and country music (especially by Johnny and June Carter Cash), the color yellow, and the title of  “Mom” and “Grandma”.  Charlotte will always be remembered for her kind, loving heart and infectious giggle.

Surviving Charlotte is her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Carter Hansen of Wahpeton, North Dakota, grandchildren Jaden, Bridger, and Olivia Hansen, sisters Jan (Larry) Eckstein and Karen (Ole) Tvedt, both of Red Lake Falls, Minnesota, brother-in-law Dennis (Judy) Lunde of Boca Raton, Florida, many dear nieces and nephews, special friends – the Kronebusch family of Sanborn and the amazing caregivers and friends at “Your Home At The Lake” on Ottertail Lake, Minnesota.

Preceding Charlotte in death are her parents, John and Marguerite, her daughter, Cynthia Lunde Hovda, her son, Michael Lunde, her sister, Mary (Lloyd) Paulson, and her brother, Robert Delvo.
