(NewsDakota.com) The Enderlin Post 221 American Legion baseball team will be heading to Langdon next week along with LaMoure Post 19 representing the Southeast Region after winning their Friday contest along with a little help from Post 19.

In the first of Friday’s doubleheader, Post 221 routed Kidder County 10-0 in five innings. Enderlin’s Wyatt Aberle limited Kidder County to just three hits, while the offense for Post 221 was red hot in third and fifth innings; which featured six runs on just four hits in the final inning of the game. Grant Lindemann had a double, two singles and scored twice in the victory, while Spencer Gillund registered a triple and scored twice.

Game two saw LaMoure Post 19 hang on for a 5-4 victory versus Oakes Post 36. Post 19 took an early 5-0 lead that took Oakes starting pitcher Cole Kelly out of the game. However, Post 36 was able to bring home two runs each in the forth and sixth innings, but stranded a total of nine runners on base; including the bags being full in the sixth. LaMoure’s Anthony Olson had a double and a run scored, while Oakes’ Grayson Roney did not allow a LaMoure run the rest of the game in relief of Kelly, and picked up a hit and scored a run of his own while at the dish.

Enderlin will play LaMoure at 5 p.m. Saturday, and will need to force a second game 20 minutes later to win the Southeast Region Championship. Coverage starts on Q101.1 FM and NewsDakota.com at 4:45 p.m.
