N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Youth received honors in the 4-H Round Robin livestock showmanship event held Saturday, July 26, at the North Dakota State Fair in Minot.

The Round Robin events consists of the top two showmanship participants from the
beef, dairy, goats, sheep and swine shows. During the event, contestants show
each of the five species. Judges evaluate their skills in showing the animals,
and the top two showmanship participants are selected for a special award
sponsored by the North Dakota Veterinary Medical Association.

Judges for the contest were Lindsey Maddock, Tony Heins, Al Pearson, Cole
Rupprecht and Joana Friese.

The winners by division were:

* Junior division (ages 8 to 11) – champion, Kendra Myers, Katherine; reserve
champion, Jamie Geyer, Lisbon

* Intermediate division (ages 12 to 14) – champion, Lynsey Schmitz, Oakes;
reserve champion, Kaitlin Geyer, Lisbon

* Senior division (ages 15 to 18) – champion, Lacey Schmitz, Oakes; reserve
champion, Jamie Lundquist, Hampden
