CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A rural Kathryn woman waiting for her trial suddenly began to shake uncontrollably with a seizure on July 29 inside the Barnes County Courthouse.

Judge Jay Schmitz called for paramedics to assist the woman. Ginger Helland was transported to Mercy Hospital. No details about her condition have been released.

Barnes County State’s Attorney Carl Martineck says “The trial for Helland will be reset  and witnesses will be subpoenaed to appear once we receive a new trial date.”

Helland was faces three charges, Animal neglect, Mistreatment of animals and Unlawful disposition of dead animals charge. She has pleaded not guilty.
