(NewsDakota.com) – First elimination game for Jamestown Post 14 and they did what they needed to do to get passed Dickinson, 3-1. It certainly wasn’t pretty from the offensive side of the ball, but Landon Weiser scattered six hits over seven innings of one run ball to keep it close.

Trailing 1-o into the fifth inning, Jamestown didn’t yet have a hit off of Dickinson starter Brett Schweitzer. Shaun Hogan changed that with a 2-out single to to tie the game following a costly RoughRiders error. It was the only hit allowed by Schweitzer who took the loss giving up two runs over 6.2 innings.

Jamestown got two more in the seventh on a balk from reliever Marcus Jones and an RBI single by Tyler Ukestad. They finished with just five hits in the game.

Post 14 lives to play again tonight (Friday) and they will battle No. 4-seed West Fargo with an estimated start time of around 8:30pm. The Patriots beat Minot 9-7 and lost to Bismarck 10-0.

The game can be heard on 1400/97.1 ESPN Jamestown and NewsDakota.com.
