N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A 64-year-old pilot from Lisbon was killed when his plane crashed last night near Lisbon. The plane came down in a wheat field, 4 miles northwest of Lisbon last night just after 7:30pm.

Elizabeth Cory, a spokesperson for the Federal Aviation Administration says the plane was a P-51 mustang.

KFGO radio says it was a replica, three-quarter scale version of the famous World War II fighter.

The National Transportation Safety Board will head up the investigation and the Federal Aviation Administration has had investigators on scene.
