N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A 68 year-old Fargo man was injured after striking a deer this morning on Highway 46 at about 8:00 AM.

James Hapala of West Fargo was traveling Eastbound when he struck a deer and failed to maintain control. He was not wearing a helmet and was thrown from the 2009 Harley Davidson. The motorbike and deer ended up in the South ditch. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Hapala sustained injuries from the crash and was airlifted by life flight to the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.

The crash remains under investigation.
