(NewsDakota.com) The Carrington Post 25 American Legion baseball team shut out another opponent in the State Class B Legion Tournament on Saturday, this time a 9-0 win over Enderlin Post 221.

Post 25 scored the first three runs of the game and chased out Enderlin starter Jorun Hamre after just one-third of an inning.

Everyone who had an at bat for Carrington had a hit in the game, and Marcus Hewitt went all seven innings and allowed just six hits.

In the first game of the day, which was a loser-out contest, Thompson won the game with the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth on a hit-by-pitch 6-5

Sunday’s play starts at 1 p.m. with Thompson taking on Carrington at 1 p.m. If Carrington wins, they will be State Champions; whereas if Thompson wins, there will be a winner-take-all contest for the title 20 minutes after. Coverage on Q101.1 FM and NewsDakota.com starts at 12:45 p.m.
