CITY, N.D (NewsDakota.com) Valley City State Baseball coach Casey Olney has brought on Grafton native, Anthony Kliniske as an assistant for the 2014-2015 baseball season.

Kliniske played both high school and legion baseball in Grafton before making the North Dakota State University team as a pitcher. During his college career Klinsike was a three-time honoree of the Summit League Commissioner’s List of Academic Excellence.

Klinsike has worked coaching junior high and junior varsity baseball at Grafton High School.

Valley City Coach Casey Olney said, “we are pleased to have Anthony working for VCSU and we are excited about what he can bring to the Viking Program.” He went on to say, “He has a familiarity with baseball in the state and region and has competed as a player at the division one level. His background as a player and coach at successful programs in high school and college are all positives for VCSU.”

The Vikings finished third in the North Star Athletic Association conference last season with a 19-29 record.
