ROCKFORD (NewsDakota.com)  The District 7 Champions and now the Babe Ruth Champions of North Dakota, the Kindred Vikings won four games during the tourney, did not lose a game and allowed only four total runs the entire tournament.  Those four runs were on the opening day Friday, August 1st to Beulah, but after that its was lights out.  The Vikings shutout Thompson in the Championship 6-0, two days earlier they shutout Park River 6-0 and the day before that they shutout Thompson 12-0 in five innings.  Kindred will finish at 24-8, Thompson falls to 30-8.

The Vikings got another stellar pitching performance from Brock Benson, working six innings, allowing only two hits and no runs.  Josh Dura came in and worked the seventh.  Nick Zinc was the player of the game going 2-for-4 at the plate.  Benson was 3-for-3 and an RBI, he was a home run away from the cycle.  Brett Sutter-Hegg was the losing pitcher, throwing three innings, allowing four runs on six hits.
