N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – It’s been a different summer for the state this year in North Dakota, with less than the normal amount of heat expected in the region.

According to the Bismarck National Weather Service, several areas average a certain number of days of 90 degrees or higher temperature wise. As the summer of 2014 nears a close, the numbers are below average and the Weather Service estimates that they’ll stay that way through the month of August.

Numbers show that Bismarck averages upwards of 20 days of temperatures 90 degrees or higher, but has only seen 6 days this year with those temperatures. Minot sees around 14 days of higher heat, but has experienced only 3 days of hot temperatures. Jamestown averages 16 days of 90 degree weather or higher, but has only had 2 days of hot temperatures.

Mild temperatures are expected to continue through the month of August.
