N.D. (NewsDakota.com) North Dakotans who want to report suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation of vulnerable adults can now do so online.

The state Department of Human Services’ Aging Services Division has launched a website to make it easier for people to report concerns. North Dakota is now one of five states using the online reporting form.

Michelle Gayette is the department’s vulnerable adult protective services administrator. She says the reporting system is for non-urgent concerns. She says anyone worries that a vulnerable adult is at imminent risk of serious injury or death should call 911.

The Legislature last year passed a law requiring more than 20 different types of professionals to report possible abuse, neglect or exploitation of vulnerable adults.

North Dakotans can now report concerns online at https://fw2.harmonyis.net/NDLiveIntake/

Those who prefer to report possible abuse or neglect of vulnerable adults by phone or other means can find contact information on the department’s website at www.nd.gov/dhs/services/adultsaging/reporting.html.
