N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – South Central Dakota Regional Council has announced that they’ve been awarded a Bush Foundation Community Innovation Grant.

The grant of $121,500 will be used to bring community leaders together to create a process that assures safe, quality buildings in the region. Executive Director Deb Kantrud stated that one of their top concerns was the need for building inspector services. The grant will allow them to create an inspection program that can be utilized in the region.

The Bush Foundation has awarded nearly $5 million to 34 organizations in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. SCDRC serves Barnes, Dickey, Foster, Griggs, LaMoure, Logan, McIntosh, Stutsman and Wells counties.
