N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Senator Heidi Heitkamp recently announced a new federal loan to help expand and upgrade service and access to high-speed internet in rural communities all throughout Griggs County.

The roughly $4.7 million loan to Griggs County Telephone Company will expand the service, specifically in Binford and Cooperstown, and provide expanded voice, video and data service to nearly 700 subscribers. Funds were made available from the Rural Utilities Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Heitkamp remains as the Chairwoman of the Senate Agriculture Subcommittee on Jobs, Rural Economic Growth and Energy Innovation. The committee continues to expand high-speed internet and promotes tele-medicine.
