N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Council will be holding a special meeting on Tuesday, August 19th at 3:00 PM to discuss several issues, including the firework ordinance.

Items of the agenda include awarding the bid for replacement of permanent seating in the upper concourse of the Jamestown Civic Center and approving and authorizing the issuance of improvements warrants on several items including Series W and Series X.

The final item on the agenda will be introducing the first reading of an ordinance to amend and re-enact Section 15-33 to allow fireworks and detonation from July 1st through July 5th from Noon to 11:00 PM, with the exception of July 4, from Noon to 1:00 AM. Mayor Katie Andersen stated that the change has been announced, but a suggestion to put it on the November 4th ballot was also up for discussion.
