D.C. (NewsDakota.com) – An announcement from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency has made aid available to North Dakota to supplement state, tribal and local recovery efforts from severe storms and flooding from June 25th to July 1st.

President Barack Obama made funding available on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by severe storms and flooding in Benson, Bottineau, Divide, Eddy, McHenry, Mountrail, Pierce, Renville and Ward counties and the Standing Rock Indian Reservation.

Federal funding will also be available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures for all counties and tribes in the state. Applications procedures will be explained at several location briefings with locations announced in affected areas by recovery officials.
