N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Former Jamestown High School Basketball coach Jerry Meyer has passed away after struggling with Alzheimer’s in the past. He was 82 years-old.

Meyer began his coaching career in Jamestown in 1965, leading the Blue Jays to four state championships in 1976, ’78, ’82 and ’87. Jerry Meyer won 523 games in his coaching career at Jamestown and went on to coach in Colorado. He ended his career coaching for Jamestown College, taking the Jimmies to the NDCAC championships in 1994 and 1995. He was elected into the North Dakota Sports Hall of Fame in 2006 and Jamestown High School named their arena after him in 2011.
