N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Board of Higher Education’s Budget and Finance Committee has come up with a list of new construction projects for the state’s colleges and universities. The price tag: 0 million.

The top priority for the system  is a new campus heating plant for Valley City State University. That project has a price tag of $15.9 million. Margaret Dahlberg is the acting president at Valley City State. She says it could create a situation where the university would have to shut down temporarily during a bitterly cold stretch in the winter.

A consultant had identified that project as the most immediate need in the University System.

The Committee’s recommendations will now go to the full Board – before being put into the system’s budget request for the next two year period.
