CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Nicole Lindermann of Kathryn, North Dakota pleaded guilty to a felony charge of Conspiracy to Commit Arson and Burglary as well as a misdemeanor charge of Theft of Property for her role as an accomplice in the burning and burglarizing of Faith Lutheran Church last October.

During the Change of Plea hearing Barnes County State’s Attorney Carl Martineck gave a summary of Lindemann’s testimony she gave to police that stated that Andrew Miklas used a crow bar and a screw driver to pry open 3 doors. She says he used paint thinner to start a series of fires in three separate areas of the church on October, 6 2013.

She told police that a money bag and 3 bottles of wine were taken from the church during the break-in before Miklas decided to go back and set fire to the church to coverup the burglary. In the report she told police she sat in a car in the Leevers grocery store parking lot waiting for Miklas to finish the job.

Judge James Hovey ordered a pre-sentence investigation. He says Lindermann will be sentenced in 90 days from the August 25 hearing.

Linderman faces a 10 year prison sentence on the felony Conspiracy to Commit Arson charge and a 5 year sentence on the felony Burglary charge. She also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of theft which carries a sentence of 30 days in jail.

Lindermann remains free on her own recognizance according to her bail agreement.

Several members of Faith Lutheran Church were in the courtroom as well as the family of Nicole Lindermann.

The church will build a new structure across the street on the current Smith Lumber Company site. The old church was demolished earlier this year. Groundbreaking for the new Church is tentatively set to begin later this year.

A new building for Smith Lumber is now under construction on east Main in Valley City.
