(NewsDakota.com) – Both the men’s and women’s golf teams started off their season in impressive fashion on Wednesday grabbing wins at the Jamestown Country Club during the UJ Fall Kick-off Tournament.

Michael Strain was the top scorer on the men’s side carding a 5-under par 67 to win the tournament. Jimmies’ Annie Nelson was the winner on the women’s side as the team shattered the school record in just their first chance. They carded a 342 to wipe out the school record by over 30 shots.

The women’s team will head to Eau Claire, Wis. this week to compete in the Georgianni Memorial Invite.

Former Blue Jay Brandon Stahlhut was the second lowest scorer for the Jimmie men with a 75.
