(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes High School football team improved to 2-0 to commence the 2014 season after a solid 48-0 win to start Class A Region I play on Friday night against Ellendale-Edgeley-Kulm.

Oakes scored two touchdowns within the first 31 seconds of the game, stopped the first three Thunder drives with interceptions, and lead 34-0 at the end of the first quarter. Brody Bartholomew and Erik Loepp each had three touchdowns in the contest, while Ethan Zetocha registered two interceptions. 

EEK is now 0-2 to start the season, and 0-1 in Class A Region I; still seeking for their first win since forming the co-operative at the beginning of next season. Oakes heads home for a date with Linton-HMB on Friday, September 12.
