CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Hi-Liners will have to work for their first Eastern Dakota Conference win of the season as they fell to Fargo South on Tuesday night in three straight games, (25-15, 25-23, 26-24) at the Hi-Liner Activity Center.

The loss drops the Hi-Liners to 5-3 overall, and 0-3 in EDC play.

Claire Olson and Brenna Dietterle both flirted with double digit kills in the game, but despite their effort, the Hi-Liners just could not seem to get the upper hand on the Bruins. After falling in game one by 10 points, VCHS was on the verge of a taking game two from the Bruins. Trailing by five game points, the Hi-Liners almost fought back before the Bruins would shut the door on game two with a two point win.

The final game was perhaps the Hi-Liners best, as they stayed with in arms reach of Fargo South, never trailing by more than a handful of points. In the end, Valley would force extra points, but could not come up with the final two to claim the victory.

Fargo South’s Emily Stroup was nearly unstoppable in the contest leading the match with over 20 kills.

Hi-Liners return to action on Thursday when they hit the road for another EDC match up with Grand Forks central.
