N.D. (NewsDakota.com) For the second straight year, the Valley City State men’s golf team has captured the Bismarck State Mystics Invitational Championship.

The Vikings picked up the title at the two day invite with a team score of 616. They edged out the host team, Bismarck State, by eight strokes to claim the title.

Leading the way for the Vikings was Kyle Wiebe. The VCSU freshmen carded a 75 on the first day, than followed that up with a 71 to finish the second day one under par. Wiebe’s 146 earned him the individual championship. Jake Richels and Ben Sorenson each tied for fifth place with a 157.

On the Women’s course the Vikings Nicole Heinitz finished the event in 11th place. Nicole Mosiman ended the tournament in 12th, and teammate Hannah Gress finished the event in 16th.
