JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Its doors have been closed for more than 30 years, but on September 13th, The Stutsman County Courthouse will host an open house to the public.

Established in 1883, the Stutsman County Courthouse remains the oldest courthouse in North Dakota. Historic Sites Manager Guinn Hinman stated that the courthouse actually played a vital role in the establishment of North Dakota as a state. She also mentioned that it will be the only preserved as a historic site.

The open house will feature tours and interpreters to help share the history of the courthouse and answer any questions. Doors will be open from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. For more information, you can click here or call 701-797-3691.
