(NewsDakota.com) The last two times the Oakes High School football team faced Linton-HMB, the Tornadoes lost both games by a combined eight points.

On Friday night, Oakes made a statement that was heard around the region by hanging half a hundred points on the visiting Lions with a 50-26 victory.

Bryce Meehl was a part of five touchdowns, including scoring passes two to Ethan Zetocha, and one to Carter Zetocha in the victory. Erik Loeep also scored an offensive and defensive touchdown. The Tornadoes ran up more than 400 yards of total offense.

Oakes now stands at 3-0 and 2-0 in Class A Region I. The Tornadoes welcome Northern Cass on Friday September 19.
