N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – September is Suicide Awareness Month and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will be holding “Out of the Darkness” community walks in several North Dakota communities.

Beginning September 19th in Bismarck, a community walk will take place in order to raise funds and awareness for suicide prevention. It is estimated that in the United States, a person dies by suicide every 13 minutes. It is the fourth leading cause of death among adults ages 18 through 65.

The walks will be in Jamestown on September 27th and in Valley City on September 28th.
