(NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown junior back-up QB Andrew Hornung got an opportunity to play tailback after an injury to Scott Nelson ended his season and Hornung made the most of it. On his first carry of the game he rattled off a 47-yard touchdown that put Jamestown in front 7-0 en route to their 26-6 win over Dickinson.

Hornung would score twice more in the game with both scores coming from seven-yards out. The first came in the second quarter to pace Jamestown to a 14-0 lead. Dickinson got on the board before halftime when their backup QB Shawn Steffan threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Carter Blackwell in the closing seconds of the first half.

Jamestown scored two more touchdowns in the second half. Logan Anderson hauled in a 77-yard catch and raced for a score in the third quarter. Following that, Hornung put the exclamation point on the game with a second seven-yard touchdown.

The win moves Jamestown to 4-1 on the season and they will head to Bismarck to play the second-ranked Demons on Friday.
