N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes High School volleyball team now has a 22-4 record after winning a pair of matches over the week.

Oakes went on the road Tuesday and defeated Midkota three games to one by scores of 25-19, 25-21 22-25 and 25-23. As a team, the Tornadoes had 16 aces and 38 kills; Lydia Hanson registered 17 of those kills in the victory.

On Thursday, Oakes got away from District 5 play and won in four games against the Bobcats of North Sargent by scores of 25-19, 25-12, 19-25 and 25-20. Oakes had 15 aces and 47 kills in the match; 4 aces coming from Larissa Vculek.

Oakes is 4-1 in Class B District 5 and will play in Montpelier on Saturday, before hosting Carrington on Tuesday to wrap up District play. Coverage of both matches can be heard on KDDR-AM 1220/95.9 FM and NewsDakota.com.
