Marc Rittenhouse was born December 30, 1962 in Las Vegas, NV, the son of Albert and Diane (Ludden) Rittenhouse.  He graduated from Mira Loma High School in Sacramento, CA in 1981.

On December 26, 1987, Steve married his high school sweetheart, Crystal Sadek.  They lived in Napa Valley, CA and Valley City, ND, eventually settling in Valley City.  Steve worked as a heavy equipment mechanic.

He had a love of sports.  He watched baseball and football and played softball for many years.  He also played pool in the Valley City league.

His life revolved around his family and friends.  He loved his wife and kids, and they loved him back.  Steve’s main focus lately was being a grandpa.  Stephen was a very kind-hearted man who would do anything for anybody and never expect anything in return.  He touched many lives in the time we had with him.

Stephen died at Sanford Health in Fargo on October 10, 2014 at the age of 51.  He is survived by his wife, Crystal; children, Stephen Jr. (Ashley Berg), Nick, Jill (Shannon) Horst, and Adam (Jocey Haugen); and grandchildren, Brycen, Aubrey, Bentley, Rylee, Karsyn, and another grandbaby on the way, all of Valley City.  He also leaves behind his mother, Diane; mother-in-law, Beverly Sadek; brother, Brad (Kathy); sisters, Debra Ludden, Kim (Gordon) Burton, and Kelli Degarmo; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Ronald.

The funeral service for Steve will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at New Life Assembly of God in Valley City.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City.  A prayer service will be held there beginning at 7:00.
