(NewsDakota.com) U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota is schedule to make stops in Edgeley and Ellendale on Thursday.

Heitkamp is scheduled to first visit Edgeley’s City Hall at 10 a.m. Thursday to discuss her Strong & Safe Communities Initiative and gather input on the economic development, education, health care, and energy challenges in the area.

The Senator will then head to Ellendale to hold a Economic Development Roundtable Discussion at 2 p.m. at the Woodland Room of the Fireside Steakhouse and Lodge. The Senator, along with various community leaders will discuss economic development challenges and opportunities in southern North Dakota.

At 3:15 Thursday afternoon, the Senator will visit the Kedish House Women’s Shelter in Ellendale to discuss efforts to combat domestic violence. She is planned to meet with staff and discuss the services offered, talk about recurring challenges, and explore what the professionals on the ground think can be done to combat domestic violence.
