CITY, N.D. (NewsDaktoa.com) Pro Walleye Anglers Troy Morris and Corey Heiser out of Fargo, North Dakota have turned the fishing world upside down by using only artificial bait for during the entire 2014 season.

The reason for the change from live bait is because the duo believes it is healthier for the waters that they fish. When live bait is lost in lakes and streams it introduces Aquatic Nuisance Species into the environment. This is a nationally recognized problem throughout the country.

As the season came to a close, Troy and Corey accomplished a number of goals.

The teams became the first to ever fish an entire circuit with only artificial lures. They finished 19th at in the Big Stone Minnesota tournament, 20th at the tournament at lake Sharp South Dakota, 9th at Wisconsin’s Lake Michigan out of Oconto and 45th at Minnesota’s Cass Lake.

The dynamic duo also earned an 18th place finish in the Masters Walleye Circuit Team of the Year and qualified for the 2015 Cabela’s MWC World Walleye Championship on Lake Erie in Huron, Ohio.

The team intends to only use artificial bait for the upcoming season.
