(NewsDakota.com) – Last year, Jamestown swept Century in their gym en route to an undefeated 16-0 WDA season. This time around, the Jays were hoping to avoid letting Century end the regular season without a West Region loss and they did just that. Jamestown took down the Patriots in five-sets (25-23, 25-22, 20-25, 15-25, 15-11).

After winning the first two sets, it appears the Jays were on their way to a sweep when they lead 18-13 in the third set. Out of a timeout, the Patriots looked completely re-energized and rolled off a 12-2 run to win the set. They would continue their run into the fourth set, winning 25-15.

In all the run was 40-18 as they jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the decisive fifth set. Jamestown fought back and tied the final set at 10. Julina Niemeier appeared to have ended the match with an ace up 14-10, but it was ruled out.

Jenna Stilwell with one of her match leading 20 kills ended the match on the next point.

The Jays will host Dickinson on Thursday as part of the “Dig Pink” event. The next broadcast will be November 4th when Bismarck High comes to town.
