(NewsDakota.com) – A pair of University of Jamestown juniors were named the North Star Athletic Association preseason players of the year. Jessica Buck took home the honor on the women’s side, while Brequan Tucker was cited as the men’s recipient.

Both Jimmie teams will be attempting to replace two of the most decorated players in the history of the respected programs, Hannah Steele and Mark Hoge. Buck and Tucker will both be counted on immensely in 2014-15 and that shows with their selections as the NSAA players of the year. 

The Jimmie men didn’t get another player on the preseason team. Joining Tucker on the rest of the men’s team; Dakota State’s Miguel Sansavour, Dickinson State’s Mack Odenier and Tevin Russel, Mayville State’s Chuck Robinson, and VCSU’s Mac Kroeplin.

Teammates Kyra Dewald and Jordan Bridges joined Buck on the women’s team. Mayville State, who will be rebuilding after graduating four starters, had two players selected; Liza Hoglo and Sabrina Rude. The sixth player is Presentation College’s Rachel Fuhrmann.
