N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Hi-Liners Cross country season came to an end on Saturday in Minot at the North Dakota State meet.

The top finisher at the event for Valley City High was Mikaylah Ross who clocked in at a time of 16:18 in the girls race capturing 50th place. Mikayla Wolla had a personal best at a time of 16:57 in her first varsity state meet. The time was good enough for 95th overall.

In the boys race, Casey Engelhard led the way for the Hi-Liners finishing in 130th place in the big race.

After the event head coach Brian Engelhard said, “With all the injuries/ illnesses that crept up on us this year, it was good to have the veterans compete and finish one last time this season.” He went on to say, ” This meet marks the end of  the long and successful varsity careers for Seniors April Berntson, Casey Engelhard, and Barbara Zubrod.   They have given so much to our varsity team over the last 5-6 years, and they will be greatly missed.”
