B. Jacobsen, 93, Valley City, ND, formerly of Luverne, ND, died October 26, 2014 at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City.  She was born Ila Belle Boyer on September 24, 1921 to Clarence and Clara (Lerfald) Boyer in Kenawick, WA.  As a young girl, she moved with her family to Hope, ND.  She attended school in Hope, graduating in 1939.

On March 21, 1941, she married Darrel Jacobsen in Hope.  They made their home in the Luverne, ND area where they farmed.  After Darrel’s death in 1992, Ila moved to Valley City, ND.

Ila is survived by her sons, James (Claudia) and Michael both of Luverne; daughter, Patty (Dan) Slepian of Sacramento, CA; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a brother, Ardell (Orla) Boyer of Richfield, MN; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Boyer of Minneapolis, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Goldie Johnson; and a brother, James Boyer.

The memorial service for Ila B. Jacobsen will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at the Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel.  Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 until 7:00 at the chapel.

Burial will take place in the Luverne Cemetery, Luverne.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials be given to either the Luverne Cemetery or the Sheyenne Care Center Memorial Fund.
