N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – On Thursday, October 23rd, National Massage Therapy Awareness week was celebrated in Jamestown and a fundraiser was held to help benefit Community Action.

According to local massage therapist Michelle Kinzler, the event brought in a grand total of $3,066. The Noridian Bake sale brought in $1,323.50, which was $600 more than last year. The therapists raised $1,743.00 by giving out brief, 10 minute massages. According to Michelle, said it was a community effort.

“It was great to see people joining and working together for a cause!” she stated.

All funds raised from both the bake sale and massages go on to help the Community Action Region IV’s Weekend Backpack Program.
