N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Fraternal Order of Police has announced that they have endorsed different candidates running for county commissioner.

The Fraternal Order of Police represents more than 325,000 members associated with Law Enforcement. According to the President of Police Lodge #4 Thomas Nagel, becoming politically involved is not new for the FOP.

“The National Lodge lobbies for better laws and issues concerning law enforcement at the federal level with input from all the State Lodges. ND has been politically active on the State Level; giving endorsements and fighting for better laws here in ND.”

All candidates were given five questions to answer concerning law enforcement. Some candidates answered and others did not. After consideration, the FOP selected Nellie Degen to endorse for the Stutsman County Commission.

“It’s a very high honor and I feel blessed to have been chosen by such a great organization.” Degen stated.

Ransom County Commissioner Candidate Chris Sandvig was also endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police.
