CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A local group in Valley City with signs that read “Promote Development Vote No on all city measures” appears to have violated a North Dakota Century Code according a spokeswoman Lee Ann Oliver with the Secretary of State’s office.

Valley City Barnes County Development Corporation Executive Director Jennifer Feist says according to Oliver a name of the sponsor behind the political ad needs to have the name of a specific person on all material regardless if its a local or statewide political advertisement.

Feist says there’s no person’s name on the Sheyenne Valley Development Group signs in Valley City. She says therefore they have violated the law.

The Valley Development Corporation supports all Valley City measures being voted on in the November 4 general election.

While the Sheyenne Valley Development Group does not support any of the Valley City measures on the November 4 ballot.
