CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Valley City voters resoundingly approved of a measure to use ½ cent of the city sales tax monies used for economic development to fund permanent flood protection. The measure passed by 65 percent.

Voters narrowly approved of a plan to build a Health, Wellness and Physical Education Center in Tuesday’s election. The measure passed with 51 percent. 1,184 voted in favor of the plan and 1,132 voted against it.

Voters rejected a measure that allows a 5-year property tax exemption on new construction or improvements to commercial properties in Valley City. Voter said no by a thin margin of 50.29% 1,138 while 1,125 voted to keep the exemption in place.
