N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – One 19 year-old and two 16 year-olds are in custody after being found brandishing an AR-15 type assault rifle out of their vehicle’s window.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, 19 year-old Alex Stenson of Beulah, North Dakota entered a gas station parking lot when a passenger of the vehicle pointed the assault rifle out of the front passenger window down a sidewalk. A stop was conducted and three occupants were removed from the vehicle and taken into custody.

When the vehicle was searched, an M4 assault BB rifle gun was found in the center seat. The tip of the gun, which was supposed to orange from the factory, was painted black to give the appearance of an actual rifle.

Stenson was transported to the Cass County Jail. One male from Moorhead, MN and one female from West Fargo, ND will face unspecified charges in juvenile court and were released into custody of their parents.
