(NewsDakota.com) – The Jimmie volleyball team is headed to Sioux City, IA in ten days as one of the final 24 teams standing. Jamestown welcomed Kansas Wesleyan to town in a NAIA opening round match and came away victorious, 3-1 (25-20, 22-25, 26-24, 25-20).

In the second set, the Coyotes got out to a 22-13 lead and held off a furious Jimmie rally as they got within two at 24-22.

The Jimmies are off until December 2nd and will play three matches in Sioux City in pool play and if they finish in the top-2 of their pool they will enter a single elimination tournament. The pool play match schedule will be released on Sunday night.

This was Jamestown’s third appearance in the NAIA opening round, but had not ever advanced passed the first match.

Janna Johnson had 14 kills and Alaina Brown added 10. Heather Bachman knocked down a ball at the net to clinch the win.
