N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Hundreds of cases of influenza are being reported across the state as we enter into a new year. Nearly 1000 cases have been confirmed across North Dakota.

More than 30 case of influenza have been reported in Barnes County according to City/County Health spokeswoman Sarah Hansen.

Valley City Sheyenne Care Center CEO Craig Christensen says there are no restrictions for visitors but precautions are in place.

CHI Mercy Health spokeswoman Susan Kringlie says no restrictions are in place at their facility in Valley City. But she urges the public to use common sense and don’t visit anyone at the hospital if you are sick.

However, due to the influenza outbreak the Good Samaritan Society in Oakes is asking all family members and visitors to wait to see their loved ones due to a number of residents with the illness.

And visitation has been limited to adult family members only for those wishing to visit a family member at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
