N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The community of Jamestown has been discussing the growth of the community some time. But, the question is how much will it grow?

That’s what the Jamestown Public School District has set out to do. Superintendent of Jamestown Public Schools Robert Lech explained that they were preparing for the short term and long term in regards to the growth that is expected for the community. The first step was approving long-range facilities planning group DLR to conduct a study to assist with a plan that would be adopted by the Jamestown Board of Education.

Lech stated that it didn’t affect the education or health of their schools as they were rated quite highly by the comprehensive study. The hope was that the study would establish what should be done to ensure the growth of the schools in the community meet the growth in population.

The schools will be holding a Community Meeting on Tuesday, January 20th at 6:30 P.M. in the Thompson Community Room at the Jamestown Middle School. The purpose will be to understand what the community of Jamestown wants for the growth of their schools, both long term and short term.
