N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corporation has unanimously voted to request a $500,000 loan from Stutsman County.

The amount of the loan is roughly half of what is need to pay for automated switches required by BNSF at the Spiritwood Energy Park Association rail loop. The remaining amount needed will be paid from uncommitted economic development funds held by the city of Jamestown and the county. JSDC’s Holly Miller.

BNSF is requiring a total of $970,000 to be paid by March 31st, or no rail service will be provided to the loop.
