(NewsDakota.com) The Valley City High School girls basketball team lost their second game in less than 24 hours with a 58-50 loss on the road against the Raiders of Lakota/Edmore.

The fourth ranked team in Class B had a lead as much as 12 at one point in the contest, before a 8-0 late in the third quarter by the Hi-Liners pulled the game to within a point. In the middle of the fourth quarter, Valley City (6-8 5-8 EDC) was able to tie the contest, but never was able to gain any traction after; seeing the Raiders pull away to seal the deal.

Lakota/Edmore (13-2 6-0 Class B District 7) had a team high 33 points from University of North Dakota commit Fallyn Freije, while the Hi-Liners had 15 points from Sadie Klingenberg, and 13 points each from Clarissa Olson and Rebeca Peterson.

Valley City returns to Eastern Dakota Conference play on Tuesday, February 3 with a home contest against Fargo South.
