N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A new report released from the Southeast Multi-County Agency Drug Task Force shows that Andrew Sadek was working for the regional drug task force as a confidential informant a few months before he died.

The independent state review also concluded that the drug task force handled its dealings with 20 year-old Andrew Sadek properly.

Sadek went missing from the North Dakota State College of Science campus in Wahpeton in May of 2014. His body was found in the river in June of 2014. An autopsy concluded he died of a gunshot wound to the head. His death is still being investigated.

Tammy Sadek also questions whether her son was pressured into working for the task force.

A report on the agreement with the Southeast Multi-County Agency Drug Task Force known as (SEMCA) was released.

The report shows how Sadek was being investigated by the agency for drug violations and how the agency later used Sadek as an informant in exchange for reducing charges or dropping them.

In the report Deputy Weber tells the board that Sadek was complying with the instructions set forth by Weber, but eventually Sadek stopped contacting Weber.

The report says typically confidential informants known as a (CI) will stay in contact with the officer they are working for but sometimes lose contact and do not stay in contact for various reasons.

Deputy Weber did check in with Sadek after not hearing from him for some time. Weber informed the review board that Sadek never contacted Weber after he attempted to contact Sadek.

Deputy Weber informed the review board that for Sadek to fulfill his obligation in resolving the charges he was facing, Sadek needed to conduct one more controlled buy from an individual in January of 2014 and also needed to purchase from a new suspect.

The report also details how Sadek stopped meeting with investigators during his time as a confidential informant. Click on the link to read the full report.
